I’ve started a weekly series on my facebook page where I will be discussing one condition per week. The first condition we’re kicking it off with is Diabetes. And who better to start off this weekly series with than one of my favourite doctors, Dr. Micheal Greger.
So let’s get right to it.
Q: Can diabetes be reversed?
Q: How long have we known this?
A: Oh for about a century and a half.
Q: Why don’t more doctors promote this?
A: Because most of the Western world’s medical system is based on a fee-for-service- model. Meaning they get paid for the pills and prescriptions they prescribe. It’s quantity over quality. They also don’t study nutrition as a form of preventative or restorative medicine. In fact, they don’t study much nutrition at all in general. Most medical schools will offer 1 single course on the topic. 1 course! Moreover, doctors are taught how to TREAT disease with medication and surgery, they are not taught how to REVERSE disease. So it does make sense that they technically just don’t have this information. It makes sense that they prescribe us pills instead. Because that is what they are good at, that is what they know.
Luckily, more and more, we are seeing some change though. Not a lot and it’s not happening too fast, but increasingly, more studies are done and more mainstream doctors like Dr. Greger below are speaking out and doing what they can to get this information out to us, the general public.
So I encourage you to think about this, especially if you are ill. Especially if you are living on medications to get through the day. Most disease and illness of today are considered lifestyle diseases. Meaning they are caused by lifestyle and diet. And most can be prevented and reversed via proper nutrition and detoxification.
Now, let’s get back to the topic of the week…
Q: What does it take to reverse diabetes?
Watch to find out.
